MEDICAL WRITER – PERMANENT, FULL OR PART-TIME POSITION

The medical writer works directly with physicians and clients to create a variety of peer reviews, trade articles, news releases, newsletters and other written material on deadline and to a high standard.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Researching and writing of scientific articles
  • Interviewing physicians in order to ghost-write articles for trade magazines
  • Creation of articles for in-house newsletter, as well as client newsletters
  • Writing of news releases and media kits

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES  

  • Excellent writing skills, with the ability to produce factually accurate copy that is inspiring, exciting and informative
  • Demonstrated (published) writing ability
  •  Strong organisational skills
  • The ability to establish good relationships with a large number of external clients and contacts
  • Good knowledge of Windows-based packages (primarily Word and Powerpoint) and image editing programs
  • Basic knowledge of statistical analysis
  • The ability to work well under tight deadlines
  • Fluency in English is mandatory

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE  

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role, with 3+ years of work experience
  • Minimum education requirements: Undergraduate degree in healthcare, science, public relations/communications or English
