Much of the debate surrounding the planned overhaul of the European Medical Device Directives tends to focus on medical devices, circumventing along the way the consequences it has on In Vitro Diagnostics. medeuronet spoke with Mr Vollebregt, a specialist in EU legal and regulatory issues relating to medical technology, about the risks which both manufacturers and healthcare systems in general face, by failing to pay appropriate and timely attention to the implications of the In Vitro Diagnostic Device Directive (IVDD).
